Shipping Policy

Shipping origin
Most items are shipped from The Unusual Pear Studio in NSW, Australia with the exception of some Ashford items which may ship directly from the Ashford warehouse in New Zealand. 

Local pick up
Local pick up is available from The Unusual Pear Studio in Lambton, Newcastle. Please use the local pick up option at the checkout. 

Shipping carriers
All orders fulfilled from The Unusual Pear Studio are shipped with Australia Post or Sendle. All orders fulfilled from the Ashford warehouse are shipped with DHL. Once your order has been fulfilled, you will receive an email with the relevant tracking information.

Once you have placed your order and payment has cleared, I will prepare the order and aim to have it dispatched within 5 business days. 

International orders
Any customs, duties or taxes incurred are the buyers responsibility.

🌿All deliveries are carbon neutral and orders are packaged in recyclable or compostable material. Please dispose of packaging responsibly and recycle where possible.

Refund Policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Damages and issues 
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right by issuing a refund, replacing or repairing an item.

Exceptions / non-returnable items 
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on custom made items, made to order items, items on sale, workshops, rentals, or gift cards.

In the instance you change your mind or have purchased the wrong item by mistake, we can issue a store credit so you can purchase another item. All shipping costs relating to exchanges are the buyers responsibility.

European Union 14 day cooling off period 
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds for defective or damaged items

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at

Please note - ensure you know what you are buying by reading the descriptions of each product. While I have done my best to photograph these products to represent their true colours, please note that colours may vary slightly from screen to screen. All yarn and fibre is weighed with digital scales however it is normal for weights to vary by +/- 5%. 

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy 
Some items in our store may be offered to you as a subscription, a pre-order or try before you buy. This cancellation policy lays out how you can change or cancel these kinds of purchases. 

When you purchase a subscription you'll receive repeat deliveries. These are based on the subscription duration and frequency that you select. Your payment details will be stored securely and you'll be charged for each of these deliveries, unless you choose to pay in advance. 
Some subscriptions may auto-renew at the end of their duration. If you don't want to renew a subscription you can cancel it. If you want to cancel or change your subscription, you can do it at any time. Your order confirmation emails have links to your order. You can manage your subscription from there.

When you purchase a pre-order, you are buying an out-of-stock or soon-to-be-available product not yet in inventory. We may collect no payment or a partial deposit at checkout, store your payment method, then fulfill and charge the full or remaining payment at a future date. 
You can cancel a partially paid pre-order order that has not yet been fulfilled. If the order has been fulfilled, then you can't cancel the order, but you can request a full or partial refund. See our returns policy for more details on returns and refunds. 

Try before you buy 
When you purchase a try before you buy item, we authorize your payment method before fulfilling the order. You will have a certain amount of time to decide if you want to keep the item. Once the time period has passed, if you have not returned the item, we will charge your payment method for the full amount.
