The honey colour has been discontinued as the honey coloured alpaca has moved to another farm.
This yarn is hand made right here in NSW Australia by Sue & Ray in Glenorie who have spent the last 20 years developing & producing this yarn. The local alpaca fibre is core spun with natural cotton twine which makes it fairly rigid, while being very soft to touch.
This is another yarn that I have been using in my collection for over 7 years now. I have knitted a blanket with it, woven many wall hangings and used it to weave the Herringbone Cushions in my book The Woven Home (pictured)
Also pictured is a weaving that I made where I used the yarn (which had been hand dyed) as a warp for a textured, super chunky weaving.
Perfect for hand dyeing - this yarn soaks up vivid colours like a treat.

Kaayi - I acknowledge the Awabakal and Worimi ancestors and their descendants as the Traditional Custodians of Mulubinba on which I live, work and play. I celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders (past, present and emerging) of all communities who also work and live on this land.
